DRS CEO Bill Lynn was a guest speaker recently at the third annual Reagan National Defense Forum at the Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

The forum attracts the most senior military and civilian leaders in government and the U.S. defense industry.

Among the speakers were U.S. Defense Secy. Ashton B. Carter, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson.

Lynn was a speaker on a panel titled: “Bridging the Gap Between the Military and the Nation: Connecting America to the Less Than 1% Who Serve.” Also on the panel were Gen. Milley, Gen. John Kelly, Commander of the U.S. Southern Command, and U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst.

Since the end of the draft in the 1970s, fewer and fewer Americans have served in the military, creating a cultural divide that at times can impact decision-making regarding military matters and veterans affairs.
