Environmental, Health and Safety Statement
As part of its environmental, health and safety policy, DRS has committed to conducting operations and activities in a manner that provides and maintains safe and healthful working conditions, protects the environment and conserves natural resources. This includes taking measures to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and to improve the environmental performance of our products.
We support the commitment of our parent company, Finmeccanica, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Finmeccanica operations, including DRS, 15-20% by 2015. As part of this commitment, DRS has established a framework of Green Initiatives. These initiatives, which include the installation of occupancy sensors and more efficient lighting systems; reduction of printers and copiers, establishment of Green Initiatives committees at each significant operating location; and increasing our recycling.
Keeping our employees safe and healthy is a paramount concern within DRS. Over the last three years, we have reduced workplace injuries resulting in lost time by more than 60%. This achievement resulted in recognition by the Aerospace Industries Association for our safety improvement.
