Power Converter - 138-01
The DRS 138-01 power converter performs a number of functions. Primarily it takes 3-phase 440 VAC 60 Hz ships power as per MIL-STD-1399, Type 1 input power and provides two isolated output channels, which provide 20 to 35 VDC conditioned power. Each output channel has remote sensing capability and an internal current limiting algorithm optimized for charging 24 VDC batteries. The two output
channels are identical except channel 1 is optimized for 100 A and channel 2 is optimized for 50 A charging currents.
A unique feature of the 138-01 power converter is the remote, in-field, programmable, charging profiles capability. From a remote computer, via a serial port, the charging profiles for either output channel can be reprogrammed. This allows for customization of the battery configuration or battery chemistries. The user can connect the 138-01 to an alternate battery tray and rapidly alter its charging characteristics to support the new requirements.
